ACHIEVEMENTS - The Workers Compensation Expert
Independent Alberta Workers Compensation Board Expert - Advocating for injured workers
I am aware that some advocates have been writing up comments on websites that are consistently professionally done and obviously not written by the average worker. I question who is providing the comments?
Our achievements are based on our effectiveness to obtain services and benefits for injured workers and their dependents from WCB and the Appeals Commission. I have concentrated on claims that are complex over the last 11 years and that others could not bring to resolution. The secret to good advocacy is identifying any issues on the file and cleaning up the mess on file and do not miss any deadlines
Workers are lead to believe that the appeal system is not on their side. I do not believe this and encourage workers to appeal decisions to the Appeals Commission.
Statistics are only a number game. We work to obtain money and service for our injured workers. . I will not keep statistics according to corporations such as WCB as the statistics are not based on actual achievements. Unfortunately, the hardship that is caused by WCB lack of funding and the clients benefits and losses before we are retained can not be statistically counted.
It is not that easy for the average representative to deal with complex claims. This is the reason I continue to take the challenge of complex claims to the Appeals Commission.
I have represented probably hundreds of appeals at the Appeals Commission with great success. This does not include my success at the WCB and the internal appeal level the decision review and decision resolution body (DRDRB).
I have decided to provide the public with a few of the most interesting complex examples of my achievements at the Appeals Commission that are available on the public domain.
