WCB Offers seminars to union representative to assist them in learning how to appeal claims. These seminars are NOT offered to workers.

QUOTE FROM WCB WEBSITE: Union representative seminars As a union representative, you play an important role in helping your members understand workers' compensation and our processes, should they become injured at work. We offer two seminars specifically designed for labour/union representatives to help you become more informed and better prepared to help workers and/or employers who may seek your assistance. Seminars are offered in Edmonton and Calgary and have been designed to be taken together over two days (but can be taken as stand-alone courses if preferred). All seminars are offered at no cost to labour/union representatives. Understanding the WCB claims process One-day seminar 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Designed for labour/union representatives to assist members with WCB claims, this seminar provides an overview of the life a claim. What you will learn:
Requesting a review of a WCB decisionHalf-day seminar 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Designed for labour/union representatives to help their members prepare an appeal of a claim decision; includes a refresher on the life of a claim and how decisions are made. What you will learn:
Note: Approximately one week prior to the seminar date, participants will be sent an email confirmation with links to class materials. Participants will need to print and bring the materials with them to the seminar. It is recommended the materials are reviewed prior to attending.
